FirstMate founder, Michael Florian came to be in the pet food business through an interesting route. After years as a commercial fisherman, Michael began manufacturing fish feed the burgeoning salmon farming industry in British Columbia. Dogs were used on the farms to guard the stock from predators, but they enjoyed feeding themselves with the fish feed. Michael began to formulate a dog food that would keep them satisfied and use the same high quality ingredients, and FirstMate was born.
FirstMate Pacific Ocean Fish Meal Original Formula is a grain-free dry food featuring wild herring, anchovies, and sardines as its sources of protein. These fish are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which aid in healthy skin and coat. The limited ingredient diet is easily digestible.

Adjust feed according to your dog's age, energy and activity level. Always ensure fresh water is available.
Transition Instructions
It takes time to transition your pet to a new food without having digestive upset. Over the course of one to two weeks, you should gradually switch from the old food to the new. Start with a 75% old to 25% new mix, then 50:50, and finally 25:75, until you have switched to FirstMate food entirely.
